Environmental Governance and Social Network Workshop was Held
“The Environmental Governance and Social Network Workshop” was delivered online via Zoom from March 22nd to 30th 2021. The workshop was sponsored by the journal Geography and Sustainability, IGU-GFE, Institute of Land Surface System and Sustainable Development, Faculty of Geographical Science, Beijing Normal University, and College of Economics and Management, Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University. Dr. Örjan Bodin was the lecturer of the workshop, who serves as an associate professor at the Stockholm Resilience Centre, Stockholm University. The workshop was presided over by Prof. Chen Haibin of Northwest A&F University. The workshop was freely open to all international audiences via Zoom and attracted more than 90 experts, scholars, and students.

In four courses, Dr. Örjan Bodin introduced the characteristics of the social-ecological network and its application to environmental governance and provided systematic training in detail. Teachers and students kept the vigorous discussion going.





“This workshop contributed to the application of social network to human-natural coupling system”, said Prof. Wenwu Zhao, the Associate Editor-in-Chief of Geography and Sustainability, the chair of the IGU-GFE Commission and Director of Institute of Land Surface System and Sustainable Development. He introduced the Faculty of Geographical Science and Geography and Sustainability and expressed his heartfelt thanks to Dr. Örjan Bodin and all audiences.
